The National Service Scheme (NSS) and Youth Red Cross (YRC) of Paavai College of Engineering organized a programme on “Health and Hygiene for Adolescents” on 4th April 2026 at Brilliant Hall. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about the importance of maintaining proper health, personal hygiene, and a healthy lifestyle during adolescence.
The programme was delivered by Dr. P. Chitra, M.Sc., Ph.D., Principal of Paavai Institute of Allied Health Sciences. In her informative session, she explained the physical and mental changes that occur during adolescence and emphasized the importance of personal hygiene, balanced nutrition, and regular physical activity. She also discussed common health issues faced by adolescents and the ways to prevent them through proper hygiene practices and healthy habits.
Dr. Chitra highlighted the significance of cleanliness, safe food habits, adequate sleep, and stress management for maintaining overall well-being. She encouraged students to develop good hygiene practices in their daily lives and to spread awareness among their peers and community.
The programme was very informative and beneficial for the students. They actively participated in the session and clarified their doubts during the interaction. The event concluded successfully with a vote of thanks delivered by the NSS Coordinator, M. Harikrishna, who expressed gratitude to the resource person and all the participants for making the programme meaningful and successful.
