The departments of English in collaboration with FDD organized an Elocution competition on 23.11.2024

Departments of English at Paavai Educational Institutions, in collaboration with FDD, organized an elocution competition at Pragati Hall on 23.11.2024. This event aimed to showcase students’ public speaking and presentation skills, while emphasizing the importance of effective communication.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the CA.N.V. Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions, Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions, Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director Admin, Principals and Dean Academics whose participation added significance to the occasion. The guest speaker for the event, Mrs. Geetanjali Dilip, Head, Zone Francofone, Salem, delivered a thought-provoking address to the students. In her speech, she highlighted the profound importance of the English language and literature, not just for academic success but for personal growth and effective global communication. She encouraged the students to engage in creative writing, especially poetry, and emphasized the significance of using simple language, clear pronunciation, and correct accents to communicate effectively. Her speech inspired the students to appreciate the beauty of the English language and its role in connecting people worldwide.

The Chairman honoured the chief guest Mrs. Geetanjali with a shawl and memento. Following this, the Correspondent addressed the students, motivating them to adopt English as the campus language to foster better communication and academic success. She encouraged them to embrace the language as a tool for self-expression and professional growth.

The elocution competition saw enthusiastic participation from the students, each displaying their ability to articulate ideas in a vibrant and dynamic manner. The winners of the competition were as follows: S.Nanthini, I-Cyber, PCE, secured the first prize, receiving a cash prize and a certificate. V.Shreenithi, I-CSE, PEC, claimed the second prize, also awarded a cash prize and a certificate. The third prize went to P.Vasanth, I-CSE, PEC, who received a cash prize and a certificate as well. Additionally, the Consolation Prizes were awarded to E.Rajashree, I-CSE, PEC and R.Shruthika, I-CSE, PCE, both of whom received a cash prize and a certificate.

At the conclusion of the event, the Chairman and the Correspondent extended their best wishes to all the students, encouraging them to continue participating in future events and the event was a testament to the institution’s commitment to fostering creativity, communication skills, and academic excellence among its students.
