Paavai Educational Institutions organised a motivational lecture for first-year students to inspire them to develop self-awareness, independent thinking, and a clear vision for their future. The programme was presided over by the Founder and Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, Shri CA N. V. Natarajan, who delivered the welcome address.
The special guest of the occasion was Mr. Gopinath, the renowned television anchor of Vijay TV’s popular programme Neeya Naana, as well as a distinguished writer and public speaker. The Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions, Mrs. Mangai Natarajan, felicitated the gathering with her greetings.
Delivering the special address, Mr. Gopinath emphasised the importance of self-awareness and clarity of purpose among students entering college life. He appreciated the institution’s initiative in organising the programme to help students understand themselves and progress towards their goals with a broader vision. He highlighted that students should be guided by their true nature rather than by their academic background, personal preferences, experiences, or the opinions of others. Referring to the wisdom of Thiruvalluvar, he stressed the importance of examining every matter critically to understand its true meaning.
He explained that college life provides valuable opportunities to meet diverse people, gain new experiences, and refine one’s thoughts. He encouraged students to identify what they know, recognise what they do not know, and determine what they need to learn. With a clear understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, students should set meaningful goals and work consistently towards achieving them.
He further stated that freedom lies in the ability to think independently and make responsible decisions. Emphasising the importance of self-discipline and proper guidance, he remarked that the right guidance develops right thinking, which ultimately shapes a successful future. He also explained that knowledge should not merely provide information but should empower individuals to act effectively in different situations.
Encouraging students to embrace challenges, he stated that engaging wholeheartedly in meaningful pursuits gives life purpose and excitement. He urged them not to fear failure, emphasising that failure is better than never making an attempt. He also noted that interacting with people who hold different perspectives helps broaden one’s knowledge and improve critical thinking.
Mr. Gopinath further advised students that building a successful future does not necessarily require sacrifices but rather a well-defined plan and consistent effort. He encouraged them to develop a life and career that reflect their interests and aspirations. Highlighting the influence of modern technology and digital culture, he urged students to establish their own principles, rules, and self-control. He concluded by encouraging them to question the reasons behind their actions, seek meaningful answers, and continuously strive for personal and professional growth. He extended his best wishes to all the students for a successful future.
Earlier, the Founder and Chairman, Shri CA N. V. Natarajan, honoured the special guest, Mr. Gopinath, with a memento and a shawl as a mark of respect and appreciation.
The programme was attended by Dr. K. K. Ramasamy, Director (Administration), Advocate Mr. Senthil, Director (Admissions), principals of all the colleges, faculty members, heads of departments, professors, and a large number of first-year students. The session served as an inspiring platform for students to develop self-confidence, strengthen their sense of purpose, and prepare themselves for future academic and professional challenges.
