The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) – R&D, in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, organized an online webinar on “Prototype Development and Validation Clinic” on 19th August 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The webinar commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. T. Deepanjali, II Year CSE student. Ms. R. Shruthika, III Year CSE student, introduced the guest speaker, Mr. M. Elayaraja, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Fatima Michael College of Engineering and Technology, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The session introduced the participants with practical insights into transforming innovative ideas into functional and user-oriented prototypes.
The session focused on the various stages of prototype development, including idea refinement, design, development, testing, and validation. The resource person explained the importance of developing prototypes to evaluate the feasibility, usability, and effectiveness of a proposed solution. Participants were introduced to different prototyping approaches and learned how to gather user feedback, identify limitations, and improve their prototypes through iterative development. The webinar also highlighted the significance of customer validation and market feedback in developing sustainable and market-ready products. An interactive discussion and question-and-answer session enabled participants to clarify their doubts and understand real-world applications. Overall, the webinar enhanced the participants’ innovation, design thinking, problem-solving, prototyping, and entrepreneurial skills and motivated them to develop and validate their own innovative ideas. The webinar was followed by a feedback session, during which the participants shared their valuable observations and learning experiences. Finally, the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. K. Nivetha, III Year CSE student, marking the successful conclusion of the webinar.
