The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Paavai College of Engineering successfully organized a one-day hands-on training program titled “Life-Saving Medical Equipment and Troubleshooting.” on February 03, 2026.
The session was led by Mr. Vinothkumar Kannan, Managing Director, KAV Biomedical Training and Education, Madurai, who delivered an insightful lecture on Maintaining and troubleshooting Cardiac Care Equipment and Infusion Pumps in Biomedical Engineering.
The event was presided over by Dr.A.Hariharan, M.E., Ph.D., Principal, Paavai College of Engineering, who highlighted the vital role of biomedical engineers and the importance of medical equipment in healthcare, inspiring students to actively participate in the workshop. Dr. A. Immanuvel, M.E., Ph.D., Vice Principal and Mr. R. Prabu, HoD of Biomedical Engineering of Paavai College of Engineering, addressed the gathering and appreciated the resource person. Faculty members and all Biomedical Engineering students also actively participated in the event.
During the session, Mr. Vinothkumar Kannan delivered an insightful talk on corporate expectations, hardware platform preparation, technical skills, self-motivation, and the importance of core subjects. He also conducted real-time demonstrations of Multipara Monitors, Syringe pumps, ECG machines and infusion pumps, encouraging active participation from the students.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. N.Lavanya – II ECE, followed by an introduction of the resource person by Ms. K. Harsha – II BME. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms.S.Keerthana, II ECE.
