To promote cleanliness and community responsibility, NSS volunteers from Paavai College of Engineering actively participated in a cleanliness drive organized by the institution as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission on March 21, 2025.
The Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), inspired by the government’s vision, serves as a tribute to the ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi and the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. As part of the initiative, NSS volunteers cleaned the Paavai College of Engineering Globe and its surrounding garden area.
To raise public awareness, the volunteers held placards and educated the community about the importance of maintaining clean and healthy surroundings. Around 20 students enthusiastically participated in the three-hour drive, ensuring proper disposal of wet and dry waste while encouraging local residents to adopt responsible waste management practices.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. V. Hariharan, Principal of PCE, and coordinated by B. V. Maheswaran, NSS Programme Officer at PCE. The volunteers’ dedication and enthusiasm made the cleanliness drive a resounding success in reinforcing the message of hygiene, sustainability, and civic responsibility.
