The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Paavai College of Engineering successfully organized a one-day hands-on training program titled “Troubleshooting Workshop on Cardiac Care Equipment and Infusion Pumps” on March 17, 2025.
The session was led by Mr. Vinothkumar Kannan, Managing Director, KAV Biomedical Training and Education, Madurai, who delivered an insightful lecture on Cardiac Care Equipment and Infusion Pumps in Biomedical Engineering.
The event was presided over by Dr. K.K. Ramasamy, M.E., Ph.D., Director-Admin, Paavai Institutions, who emphasized the crucial role of biomedical engineers and the significance of medical equipment in healthcare, inspiring students to actively engage in the workshop.
Dr. V. Hariharan, M.E., Ph.D., Principal; Dr. A. Immanuvel, M.E., Ph.D., Vice Principal; and Mr. R. Prabu, HoD of Biomedical Engineering, Paavai College of Engineering, addressed the gathering and appreciated the resource person. Faculty members and all Biomedical Engineering students actively participated in the event.
During the session, Mr. Vinothkumar Kannan delivered an excellent talk on corporate expectations, hardware platform preparation, technical skills, self-motivation, and the importance of core subjects. Additionally, he conducted a real-time demonstration of Multipara Monitors, Defibrillators, Syringe Pumps, ECG Machines, and Infusion Pumps, encouraging active student participation.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. K. Kaviyarasu, a second-year BME student, followed by the introduction of the resource person by Ms. S. Boomika, a third-year BME student. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. P. Shobika Sri, a second-year BME student.
