The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a guest lecture on the topic “Advancements in Power System Operation and Control” on 14.03.2025 at Brilliant Hall. The program began with a prayer song, followed by Tamilthai Vazhthu.
Ms. S. Narmatha (Final Year EEE) delivered the welcome address.
Dr. V. Hariharan, Principal of Paavai College of Engineering, delivered the presidential address at the inauguration, emphasizing the current scenario of a reliable and balanced grid.
Ms. P. Pavithra (Final Year EEE) introduced the guest speaker, Er. P. Ashok, Assistant Engineer, Operation and Efficiency Division, Mettur Thermal Power Station-2, TANGEDCO, Mettur.
In his keynote address, Er. P. Ashok provided insights into modern grid technology and renewable energy integration. He also elaborated on automation control strategies and energy management in power systems. Concluding his speech, he stated, “The power grid is not just wires and transformers; it is an intelligent network where innovation meets necessity.”
The session was interactive, with students actively engaging with the guest speaker and gaining valuable knowledge.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. A. Sandhiya (Final Year EEE).
