The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Paavai College of Engineering, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council, conducted a Guest Lecture on “Embedded Systems: Design, Innovation & Career Pathways” on 29th July 2026.
The programme commenced with the welcome address by Ms. Srinithi S, III Year EEE, followed by the introduction of the resource person by Ms. Harishna A, III Year EEE.
Dr. V. Hariharan, Principal of Paavai College of Engineering, delivered the presidential address. He emphasized embedded systems form the backbone of modern technology. From smartphones, industrial automation, healthcare devices, aerospace systems and robotics to the rapidly expanding Internet of Things (IoT), embedded systems have become an indispensable part of our daily lives.
The technical session was delivered by Dr. R. RAMKUMAR, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathiyamangalam. He stated that Innovation in embedded systems is driven by emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Edge Computing, Robotics, and Industry 4.0. These advancements are creating exciting opportunities for engineers to design smarter products that improve productivity, safety and sustainability. As students, you have the potential to transform innovative ideas into practical solutions through projects, research, patents and startups. The career prospects in this field are vast.
The session concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Srinithi S, III Year EEE. Participants appreciated the informative presentation and gained valuable insights into emerging IoT technologies for smart home automation.
The guest lecture was coordinated by Dr. A. Rathinam, Dr. N. Mohanapriyaa, and Mr. R. Jeevanandh and Mrs. R. Bhuvaneshwari, along with the support of the faculty members. A total of 95 participants attended and benefited from the programme.
