The Department of Automobile Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Paavai College of Engineering organized a two-day workshop titled “SolidWorks Essentials: 3D Modeling, Assembling, and Drafting” on 26 and 27 September 2025.
The programme commenced with a prayer song, followed by the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The inaugural function was graced by the presence of Dr. V. Hariharan, Principal; Dr. A. Immanuvel, Vice Principal; Dr. J. Narendran, Head – IQAC; and Mr. R. Harisudhan, Head, Department of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. R. Harivallarsu, a third-year B.E. Mechanical Engineering student. Dr. V. Hariharan, Principal, Paavai College of Engineering, presided over the function.
In his presidential address, Dr. V. Hariharan emphasized the role of SolidWorks software in the evolution of the automobile sector and highlighted its importance in modern engineering design.
The introduction of the Chief Guest was given by Mr. M. Tamilselvan, a second-year B.E. Mechanical Engineering student. The resource person, Mr. T. Senthilraja, Green CAD Tech, Rasipuram, Namakkal, delivered the keynote address, in which he spoke about the importance of learning design software and its impact on employment opportunities.
The sessions were then continued by Mr. T. Senthilraja and his team, during which students were provided with hands-on training in SolidWorks software at the CAD Lab (PCE Core Block).
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. S. Yuvaraja, a second-year Automobile Engineering student, followed by the National Anthem.
