On November 13, 2024, Paavai College of Engineering organized an NSS Tree Plantation Programme, spearheaded by Dr. V. Hariharan, Ph.D., Principal of Paavai College of Engineering. The primary goal was to combat air pollution and protect the environment while fostering student engagement, teamwork, and physical fitness. This initiative aligned with the NSS’s mission to promote personal growth and environmental awareness.
The one-day Tree Plantation Programme took place at Karivartha Perumal Karadu, Pachal, Namakkal. The event involved 50 NSS students, supervised by an NSS Programme Officer and 20 staff members. During the activity, the students planted numerous saplings. Volunteers were chosen based on their active involvement in NSS initiatives, such as collecting plastic waste, cleaning, and tree planting.
