Paavai College of Engineering organized an NSS Trekking and Tree Plantation Programme on 17th October 2025. The event was inaugurated by Dr. V. Hariharan, Ph.D., Principal of Paavai College of Engineering. The main objective of the programme was to encourage student participation in community service, teamwork, and physical fitness. It also aligned with the core mission of NSS — promoting environmental awareness and personal development.
The one-day trekking event was held from Paavai College of Engineering to Karivartha Perumal Karadu, Pachal. Under the guidance of 20 faculty members and the NSS Programme Officer, 50 NSS volunteers and 500 first-year students actively participated. The participants were selected based on their involvement in NSS initiatives such as campus cleaning, tree planting, and plastic waste collection.
Overall, the trekking programme not only enhanced the students’ physical endurance but also deepened their sense of responsibility toward environmental protection and community service. The experience was both educational and inspiring, leaving a lasting impact on all who took part.
