The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a guest lecture on “Advanced Machine Learning Applications in Mechanical Engineering” on February 9, 2026. The programme commenced with a prayer song followed by the Tamilthai Valthu.
The inaugural function was conducted in the presence of Dr. K. K. Ramasamy, Director of Administration at Paavai Institutions; Dr. V. Hariharan, Principal; Dr. A. Immanuvel, Vice Principal; Mr. R. Harisudhan, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; IQAC coordinators; and heads of various departments.
Mr. S. Narenkumar, a second-year B.E. Mechanical Engineering student, delivered the welcome address. The function was presided over by Dr. K. K. Ramasamy. In his presidential address, he emphasized that Mechanical Engineers should take pride in the fact that all Electrical, Electronics, and Software products rely on Mechanical design and manufacturing. He encouraged students to observe the world around them from an engineering perspective.
Mr. M. Tamilselvan, a second-year B.E. Mechanical Engineering student, introduced the chief guest, Dr. K. Thavasilingam, Assistant Professor at Easwari Engineering College. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. K. Thavasilingam, who highlighted the importance of gaining knowledge about emerging technologies irrespective of one’s domain. He stressed that automobile and mechanical engineering students must adopt Artificial Intelligence in design, manufacturing, and inspection applications.
The chief guest further elaborated on machine learning concepts and provided hands-on training on implementing machine learning using AI tools to solve Mechanical Engineering problems.
Mr. S. Harish, a second-year Automobile Engineering student, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
