The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Research & Development Cell, in association with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Paavai College of Engineering, organized a seminar titled “Foundation of R&D: Ethics, Funding and Global Practices” on 12.02.2026 (10.30 AM to 12.30 PM) at Brilliant Hall.
The session was delivered by Mrs. V. Sagunthala, B.E., MBA, General Manager, Department of Industries and Commerce, District Industries Centre, Namakkal, who served as the Chief Guest and Resource Person for the event. She delivered an insightful and informative address focusing on the importance of research ethics, funding mechanisms, proposal development strategies, and global research practices.
The session began with a formal welcome address, highlighting the significance of Research and Development in academic institutions and its role in fostering innovation and sustainable growth. The resource person elaborated on ethical standards in research, intellectual property rights, government funding schemes, startup support initiatives, and international research collaborations. She also shared practical insights on preparing strong research proposals and securing financial assistance through various state and central government agencies.
Dr.A.Hariharan, M.E., Ph.D., Principal, Paavai College of Engineering, and Dr. A. Immanuvel, M.E., Ph.D., Vice Principal and Dr.N.Sasikumar, Assistant Professor / ECE, Paavai College of Engineering addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of cultivating a strong research culture among faculty and students. They appreciated the valuable insights shared by the Chief Guest and encouraged participants to actively engage in research and innovation activities.
During the session on FOUNDATION OF R&D: ETHICS, FUNDING AND GLOBAL PRACTICES, the Chief Guest, Mrs. Sagunthala, delivered an insightful talk on the importance of research ethics and integrity. She emphasized responsible innovation, transparency in research, and adherence to global standards. She also highlighted various research funding opportunities and guided students on preparing effective proposals. The session encouraged students to build a strong foundation for successful and ethical research careers.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. N. Lavanya – II ECE, followed by an introduction of the resource person by Ms. S. Keerthana – II ECE. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr.Karthikselva, II ECE.
