A one-day workshop titled “Introduction to Canva: Design, Animation and AI Tools” was organized by the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering on 7th January 2026 for the faculties of Paavai College of Engineering and Paavai Engineering College.
Ms. Harishna A, second-year student, welcomed the gathering and Ms. Srinithi S, a second-year student, introduced the chief guest.
Dr. A. Immanuvel, Vice Principal of Paavai College of Engineering, delivered the presidential address, in which he elaborated that, In today’s digital era, communication is no longer limited to words alone. Visual design, animation, and creative presentation play a crucial role in conveying ideas effectively. Platforms like Canva have revolutionized the way we create designs by making them simple, fast and accessible to everyone.
Dr.V.Hariharan, Principal of Paavai College of Engineering, served as the resource person for the workshop. He explained that We are living in an era where Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way we learn, work and create. From simple tasks to complex creative processes, AI is becoming an integral part of our daily lives. In this digital age, design is no longer limited to professional designers alone. With platforms like Canva, creativity has become accessible to everyone.
He also stated that AI-driven design platforms like Canva are redefining this process through automation, machine learning, and intelligent content generation. He concluded the session by explaining Canva integrates AI at multiple levels of the design pipeline. Tools such as Magic Design use pattern recognition and template intelligence to auto-generate layouts based on user input.
Finally, the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Srinithi S, a second-year student.
Dr.A.Rathinam, Mr. P Gopinathan , and Mr. R. Jeevanandh coordinated the workshop along with other faculty members. Around 70 faculties actively took part in the workshop and benefitted.
