The Department of Civil Engineering organized an alumni guest lecture program on the title of “Recent Trends in Adaptive Building Technology” on 27.08.2019. The session was inaugurated at 11.00 a.m. by Dr.K.K.Ramasamy Director Admin in the presence of Dr. R.Arangasamy Principal, Head of the department of Civil Engineering, Heads of various departments, faculty members and the participants from departments of Civil Engineering. In his Presidential Address, the Director Admin insists the students to learn languages other than Tamil and English for their career development. The keynote address was given by the guest speaker Mr.M.Mahadevan, Managing Partner, SM Construction, Salem. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the College for their support. He expressed his experience as a student which gave him confidence to face the real world outside the campus. The session was carried over on the title “Recent Trends in Adaptive Building Technology”. He started the session with brief explanation of construction stages. He explained the students about quantity arrival calculations for cement, bricks, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and steel. Next he moved to Vastu principles and importance of Vastu Shastra for home. He motivated the students to participate inplant training and instruct them to gain practical knowledge .He passed the positive vibration and made all the students to work towards their goal. He rendered his heartfelt thanks to the Management, Principal, Head of the Department –Civil and the faculty members. Ms.R.Abarna, Final year Civil, welcomed the gathering. The session ended around 12:45 p.m. with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr.B.Mohan, Final year Civil.
