The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science organized a guest lecture on “AI for the Future: Integrating ML and DL for Smarter Decision-Making” on March 15, 2025, at Brilliant Hall. The event commenced with a prayer song, followed by Tamilthai Vazhthu.
The invocation was led by Ms. S. Deepika (III Year AI&DS), M. Mythili, and S. I. Arshun Nisha (II Year AI&DS), while R. Sonaali (III Year AI&DS) delivered the welcome address.
During the inauguration, Dr. V. Hariharan, Principal of Paavai College of Engineering, delivered the presidential address, where he spoke about the significance of Artificial Intelligence and its vast applications across various industries. He emphasized how AI is transforming fields such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and automation, improving efficiency and decision-making. He encouraged students to explore AI-driven innovations that could shape the future.
Following this, Ms. C. Yeseshwini (III Year AI&DS) introduced the guest speaker, Dr. M. Senbagavalli, Associate Professor (CSE & IT) and Program Coordinator – Full Stack Development at Alliance University, Bangalore.
In her keynote address, Dr. M. Senbagavalli provided valuable insights into Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, highlighting their importance in modern technology. She also delivered an in-depth explanation of Object Detection using CNN coding in Deep Learning. Concluding her speech, she stated, “The future of AI lies in developing intelligent systems that not only assist but also enhance human decision-making, ultimately fostering a smarter and more efficient world.”
The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging with the speaker and gaining valuable knowledge.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Athulya Ramesh (III Year AI&DS).
