A guest lecture on the topic of “Recent Trends In Energy Engineering” was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 07.09.2019 in Paavai College of Engineering. Dr. K.Senthil kumar,M.E.,Ph.D, Professor Adhiyamaan college of engineering was the chief guest and delivered the special lecture. The program was presided over by the Dr. K.K.Ramasamy ,Director Administration, Paavai institution introduced the chief guest and shares his experience about safety life. Professor J.Narendran, Head of the Department, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Paavai College of Engineering, Heads of various departments and faculty members took part and graced the occasion. The welcome address was delivered by Mr.B.Lishanth, final year Automobile student. The guest speaker was introduced by Mr. V.S.Navinesh, final year Mechanical student. The chief guest in his lecture explained the job scenario for mechanical engineers in India and abroad. He gave an overview on Thermal Engineering. The speaker gave lecturer about steam nozzle, types of nozzles and shapes, steam flow in nozzle. He describes about the various types of boilers and their working, boiler mountings and accessories, types of fuels for boilers. He elaborated the steam turbine, its types, impulse and reaction principles, single and multistage turbine, compounding and governors. He gave information to residual heat recovery system and its types also its economical aspects, cycle analysis and cogeneration Principles. He gave information about vapour compression refrigeration system, vapour absorption refrigeration system, and Air-conditioning. After the lecture the director administrator, the principal and Head of the department thanked to the chief guest. The lecturer was well received by the students with “vote of thanks” delievered by Mr.K.Azhagudurai, Third year Automobile student.
