Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Paavai College of Engineering has organized the CSIR sponsored two days National level seminar on “Internet of Things for Electric Vehicles” on 20.12.2019 and 21.12.2019. The inaugural function was presided over by Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director-Administration,Paavai Institutions. In his presidential address he insisted the participants to think out of box and to be innovative and to find out solutions for the existing challenges. The Chief Guest Dr.L.Ashok Kumar, Professor/EEE, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore emphasized the necessity of updating with new technologies. He strongly pointed out “Internet of Everything” is inevitable in future. Prof.D.Saravanan, Convener of the seminar welcomed the gathering. Heads of various Departments, Professors and Participants from various colleges attended the programme. The first day forenoon session was handled by Dr.L.Ashok Kumar, Professor/EEE, PSG College of Technology. He gave lecture on the topics: Overview and components of IoT, Architecture of IoT and IoT in Automobile Industries. Mr.S.Sathish Kumar, General Manager, IMAGECON India Pvt Ltd was the resource person for the afternoon session. He explained Data handling relevant to Electric vehicles and elaborated the programming platform. In the second day first session was handled by Dr.C.Govindaraju, Professor/EEE, Government College of Engineering, Salem. He clearly explained charging infrastructure and Energy management control in Electric vehicles. In the afternoon session Mr.M.Parthiban, Managing Director, Embedded Technologies Pvt Limited gave a Hands-on Training. Also he covered the topics: converter and motor selection, Accessories and braking control systems. Earlier Prof.B.Gomathy, Co-ordinator of the seminar introduced the Chief guests and Prof.R.Deepa delivered the vote of thanks.
