Course objectives:

  • To provide exposure to the students with hands on experience on various basic engineering practices in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Course outcomes:

On completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • fabricate carpentry components and pipe connections including plumbing works.
  • use welding equipments to join the structures.
  • fabricate electrical and electronics circuits.
 
MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY – I

Course objectives:

  • To Study and practice the various operations that can be performed in lathe, shaper, drilling, milling machines etc. and to equip with the practical knowledge required in the core industries.

Course outcomes:

On completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • demonstrate and fabricate different types of components using the machine tools

Course objectives:

  • To Study and acquire knowledge on various basic machining operations in special purpose machines and its applications in real life manufacture of components in the industry.

Course objectives:

  • To supplement the theoretical knowledge gained in Mechanics of Solids with practical testing for determining the strength of materials under externally applied loads. This would enable the student to have a clear understanding of the design for strength and stiffness.

Course objectives:

  • To study the value timing-V diagram and performance of IC Engines.
  • To Study the characteristics of fuels/Lubricates used in IC Engines.
  • To study the Performance of steam generator/ turbine.

On completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • conduct experiment on IC engine to study the characteristic and performance of IC design/ steam turbines.

Course objectives:

  • To study the heat transfer phenomena predict the relevant coefficient using implementation.
  • To study the performance of refrigeration cycle and components.

CAD LAB

Course objectives:

  • To develop skill to use software to create 2D and 3D models.
  • To give exposure to software tools needed to analyze engineering problems.
  • To expose the students to different applications of simulation and analysis tools.

Course outcomes:

On completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • use the software packers for drafting and modeling.
  • create 2D and 3D models of Engineering Components.
  • model, analyse and simulate experiments to meet real world system and evaluate the performance.

List of Major equipment:

  • The CAD center has been created exclusively to cater training to all the students in the latest CAD software’s. The software available includes AUTOCAD, PRO-E,MECHANICAL DESKTOP,IDEAS, CATIA and ANSYS. The software certification courses are being run for the students in PRO-E package by the in-house faculty.

                                             

 

CAM LAB

Course objectives:

  • To develop skill to use software to create 2D and 3D models.
  • To gain practical experience in handling 2D drafting and 3D modelling software systems.
  • To study the features of CNC Machine Tool.
  • To expose students to modern control systems (Fanuc, Siemens etc.,).
  • To know the application of various CNC machines like CNC lathe, CNC Vertical Machining centre, CNC EDM and CNC wire-cut and studying of Rapid prototyping.

Course outcomes:

On completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • develop 2D and 3D models using modeling softwares.
  • understand the CNC control in modern manufacturing system.
  • prepare CNC part programming and perform manufacturing.

List of Major equipment:

  • The CAM center has been created exclusively to cater training to all the students in the latest CAM softwares. The softwares available are EDGECAM, ESPRIT, CNC TUTOR, We also have the MTAB CNC trainers namely CNC Trainer lathe and CNC Trainer milling.

MECHATRONICS LAB

Course objectives:

  • To know the method of programming the microprocessor and also the design, modeling & analysis of basic electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic Systems which enable the students to understand the concept of mechatronics.

Course outcomes:

On completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • design mechatronics system with the help of Microprocessor, PLC and other electrical and Electronics Circuits.

  • This laboratory comprises Design of circuits with logic sequence using Electro pneumatic trainer kits. Simulation of basic Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electric circuits using software. Simulation of Circuits with multiple cylinder sequences in Electro pneumatic using PLC Servo controller interfacing for open loop. This laboratory equips the students to practice the interdisciplinary applications of Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical and Computer Systems for the Control of Mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
