ELECTRICAL MACHINES LAB

Course objectives:

  • To expose the students to the operation of D.C. machines and transformers and give them experimental skill.
  • To expose the students to the operation of synchronous machines and induction motors and give them experimental skill.
  • To provide the students a chance to put theory into practice. To get familiar with DC machines, Transformers, synchronous machines and induction motors and give them experimental skills.
  • To calculate the various parameters and characteristics of the Electrical machine.
  • To understand the basic principles of operation of rotating electric machines, their classification and basic efficiency and performance characteristics.
  • To understand the operation and basic configuration of AC machines, including the synchronous motor and generator, and the induction machine.

Course outcomes:

On completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • Ability to model and analyze electrical apparatus and their application to power system

POWER SYSTEM SIMULATION LAB

Course objectives:

  • To provide better understanding of power system analysis through digital simulation

Course outcomes:

On completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • Ability to understand and analyze power system operation, stability, control and protection.

CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION LABORATORY

Course objectives:

  • To provide knowledge on analysis and design of control system along with basics of instrumentation.

  • Ability to understand and apply basic science, circuit theory, and Electro-magnetic field theory, control theory and apply them to electrical engineering problems.

Course objectives:

  • To enable the students to understand the behavior of semiconductor device based on Experimentation

Course outcomes:

On completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • Ability to understand and analyze linear and digital electronic circuits.
