Dr. B. M. Brinda serves as an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of CSE (Cyber Security), with over 14 years of teaching experience. She earned her Doctorate in Computer Science and Information Engineering from Anna University, Chennai. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Paavai Engineering College in 2008 and obtained her Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2012.
She holds a Business English Certificate (Preliminary Level) from the University of Cambridge, ESOL Examinations. She is deeply committed to continuous professional development and has successfully completed several NPTEL courses, earning the NPTEL Discipline Star Award, along with participating in various Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) and specialized training programmes.
Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Network Security. She has authored more than five research papers in reputed SCI- and Scopus-indexed journals and has actively participated in IEEE and Springer conferences. She also holds a UK patent for an innovative IoT-based Digital Hydroponic Nutrient Prediction Device, reflecting her commitment to practical and technology-driven solutions.
As a dedicated educator, she actively mentors and guides students, helping them navigate academic challenges and build successful career paths in the evolving field of cybersecurity. She plays a key role in transforming the CSE (Cyber Security) department into a hub of technical excellence by fostering industry–institute collaborations and promoting research-driven initiatives. Through her leadership and commitment, she strives to ensure that the department consistently produces skilled and competent graduates who are well equipped to address the emerging global challenges in digital security.
