Inauguration of National Level Technical Symposium
The inauguration of A National Level Technical Symposium TECHFEST 2K12 was conducted on 17th February 2012 in Ananda Arangam (A/C) of Paavai Campus. The symposium was organized jointly by Paavai College of Engineering and Pavai College of Technology. It was inaugurated by Ms. Priyasri Anilkumar, Indian University Relations Leader, Honeywell International India Pvt., Ltd., Bangalore.
The programme started on a divine note with the prayer song and lighting of Kuthuvilakku by Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Institutions. Ms.R. Sridevi of III yr ECE welcomed the gathering. Shri. CA. N.V. Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions presided over the function and hoisted Paavai flag.
In the presidential address the Chairman of Paavai Institutions highlighted the benefits of doing things with involvement. He advised the students to read the biographies of eminent and great personalities of the past. This will provide them with inspiration, confidence and will make them realize that hurdles are part and parcel of life and will enable the students to master the art of tackling and overcoming the hurdles. He also emphasized the importance of making a positive impact on the community. He congratulated the student participants from various colleges. He affirmed that they will have a memorable time in the Paavai Campus and will be pleased with the hospitality of Paavai.
Ms. Priyasri Anilkumar in her inaugural address pointed out the importance of participating in symposium and conferences. This will enrich and enhance the students� technical excellence and will inculcate the habit of wide reading and search for knowledge beyond the text books. She pointed out that symposium of this type is a very good platform to develop and hone the team spirit. The cash prize of Rs.25,000/-, Rs.15,000/- and Rs.10,000/- for the first, second and third prizes for the best papers in each domain will surely be a motivating factor for the students to stay focused on the target. These three qualities in a student � technical excellence, team spirit and focused mindset are the crucial and the most sought-after traits by the corporate people. Thus the chief guest in her key-note address substantiated and emphasized the significance of conducting and participating in symposium and conferences.
The souvenir of the symposium was released together by Shri. CA. N.V. Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions and Ms. Priyasri Anil Kumar, the Chief-guest of the occasion. Mr. R. Sagayaraj, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of EEE, in his prelude to the symposium illuminated the gathering about various events that are to be conducted in the symposium and criterion involved in finalizing the winners. Ms. N. Supriya of III ECE rendered vote of thanks.
