Special Lecture on "The body never lies"
A special lecture on "The body never lies" was held on 04.07.2012 at Ananda Arangam, A/c Auditorium. Ms. Gita Krishnaraj, CEO & Financial Director, Maverick Fitness Studio from Chennai was the Chief Guest. The programme began with a prayer song.
The Correspondent,Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Paavai Institutions presided over the programme and stated that the students are fortunate enough to pursue their education in Paavai Institutions which give importance to the overall development of an individual. Paavai culture stands for the integration of the body, the mind and the spirit and therefore the learners have to consider the process of learning as a joyful experience to bring out their best. After the presidential address given by the Correspondent, the chief guest started to throw light on Kinesiology, which is a study of muscles and muscular movement. It applies, as per her illustration, bio-energetic methods to ascertain body's hidden message. Through this unique feedback system of muscle testing, one can learn to interpret the body's special language. The journey of life which begins through the body that never lies. And one's survival is dependent on the capacity of the body to always tell the truth. Emphasizing the body-mind integration, the chief guest enabled the audience to do a few physical exercises in order to gain functional fitness. She focused on triggering both the hemispheres of human brain through an experimental motor activity which spread an awareness among the audience that the mind can control the body, as much as the body can energize the mind. So, by beautifully balancing the logical and the creative side of the brain an individual can achieve a holistic perception of life which is underlined in our yoga characterising the uniqueness of our ancient Indian culture. The chief guest demonstrated the seven primordial movement patterns such as walk, squat, lurch, bend, twist, push and pull which signify the presence of an immense potential inside every human being. She urged the youth to effectively use these body movements to convert one's dream into a successful reality. She concluded her lecture cum interactive session by telling the audience that life is precious, it is the gift of the cosmic creator. Hence keeping oneself fit and healthy is the secret of a meaningful and purposeful life.
Earlier, Ms.R.Abirami, Final year B.E � Civil welcomed the gathering. Ms.J.Kanimozhi, Final year B.E. � ECE introduced the chief guest to the audience. Finally, Mr.R.Ajay Subramanian, III B.E. Civil proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the national anthem.
